I’ve been very wary and weary of social media of late. I’m looking at you, Facebook. Looking at the feed it’s generating for me, it has become a cesspool of vile hatred and a putrid petri dish of falsehoods propagated by the masses who love amassing likes and comments to feed their narcissistic needs. It may be argued that the origins are small in number but they are undoubtedly loud. I doubt Facebook would do anything much besides paying lip service to stem it as, let’s face it, it’s their revenue stream. The algorithms used to present the newsfeed to you are optimized for engagement. The more of which, e.g. rage inducing posts, means more revenue for them. One can attempt to put good postings or tweets out there to quell and calm the rage but the algorithm will render them less viral.
So, as much as I would like to get off the social media bandwagon, I must admit that I’m like any typical Malaysian who’d love nothing more than to rubberneck at the scene of an accident, but in this case, postings that are rife with wacky conspiracy theories and blatant misinformation. I do find them to be entertaining at times though. I just hope that people will still have enough grey cells to stop to think before they believe and before they share stuff.
It’s 2020! Blogging feels so Y2K at this point. Is it still relevant?
So much water under the bridge since I last wrote anything significant on this website. I finally got laid married in 2016 (after unlocking the “40 Year Old Virgin” achievement the year before), been blessed with a son in 2017 and have been busy adulting since. There were times I wished I did all this earlier but reflecting back on my own attitude towards things back then, I don’t think I’d have the wisdom and patience to deal with some things.
I’ve also succumbed made the plunge to move this website to WordPress after years of running this thing on my own homebrewed solution. I finally realize the wisdom of using something that is widely supported and used by the community at large after years of having the “not invented here” syndrome. Again, I wish I did this earlier.

I actually went the whole of 2012 without putting an entry on this website. What is this world coming to…
Anyway, Happy 2013! Or as some of you superstitious ones would refer to as 2012A. I suppose this trend will continue next year when the Chinese, being superstitious they are of anything with the number 4, will refer 2014 as 2013A. My fingers actually hurt typing those extra letters there.
This is supposed to be a reboot of this website. Yes, it’s completely updated underneath. I’ve also moved to a different webhost altogether after 10 years on the previous one. Can you imagine that they’re charging about the same amount per quarter as the current webhost does for a year (i.e. 3 months on old webhost = 1 year on new webhost)? They’ve served me well but as with most things, it had to come to an end.
Of course, every end has a new beginning and I hope this will mark a new beginning for this website too. As much as I love the concise nature of Twitter, 140 characters doesn’t accomodate situations that calls for verbal diarrhea. So this shall be my little soapbox for me to make a stand for myself and the little people I represent (where applicable). Plus, there may be times I wanna show off couple of things too so this shall be the place.
… for a way overdue update on this weblog. It's also this website's 10th anniversary. If you're wondering what sort of crap someone could possibly come up with over the span of a decade, look no further. In fact, I felt obligated to write something today just out of guilt actually. Opening up the editor to write this entry felt like going into a house that you own that hasn't been occupied or visited after a long while. So does that make this site a cobweb-site then?
Anyway, so much has happened since the last time I actually wrote. Unfortunately, I still haven't gotten laid. And at the rate I'm going, there's a high chance for an actual 40 year old virgin to emerge out of this. Let's hope there won't be cobwebs in the underpants then.
So then, in light of the coming festivities, I would like to wish Eid Mubarak to all the Muslim readers and friends and Selamat Menyambut Kemerderkaan Malaysia yang ke-54 in advance. Perhaps I should extend it to Happy Deepavali, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year too just in case.
Life is but a fleeting dream, an insignificant sliver of worldliness twisting through space-time. All you touch and all you see is all your life will ever be. All those memories will be lost in time, like tears in the rain. For we are just arbitrary subunits of a quivering biomass fighting the ravages of increasing entropy in a harsh unforgiving environment, trying desperately to evade the inevitable degeneration to thermodynamic equilibrium long enough to propagate our genetic information. You are not special. You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. You're the same decaying organic matter as everyone else. And some day, man will be gone. There will be nothing to show that we were ever here… but stardust.
This is your life. Do what you love, and do it often. If you don’t like something, change it. If you don’t like your job, quit. If you don’t have enough time, stop watching TV. If you are looking for the love of your life, stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love. Stop over analyzing, life is simple. all emotions are beautiful. When You eat, appreciate every last bite. Open your mind, arms, and heart to new things and people, we are united in our differences. Ask the next person you see what their passion is, and share your inspiring dream with them. Travel often, getting lost will help you find yourself. Some opportunities only come once, seize them. Life is about the people you meet, and the things you create with them so go out and start creating. Life is short. Live your dream, and wear your passion.
Wow. I actually skipped two whole months without a single entry on this website. What is the world coming to?
In case you didn’t catch some of my tweets in the last month or two, once again, I got myself involved with another 8TV production called Showdown 2010 to do the music remixes and edits. The whole thing has been crazy to say the least but at the same time, the most fun as well. Crazy as I was doing this on top of the demands of my day job but fun as I was given a lot of room to play around (and too much rope to hang myself with sometimes), especially with the remixes. Plus, I gotta say that the production team has been the coolest I had the privilege to work with and the dance crews have been awesome as well bringing visual life to the songs. I hear some got injured performing to the songs too so I guess my work is done and mission accomplished.
Check out some of my own personal favorite remixes and performances…
I decided to do a bit of rummaging through one of my overstuffed gerobok cabinet in my apartment when lo and behold, I found me an unopened brand new toaster! For the love of God, I have no idea when I made that purchase nor was it someone's gift to me but I have never been more excited about a piece of electrical appliance ever since I got my fridge a few years ago! With this, I can now have my bread slices toasted or even have waffles for breakfast. Of course, because I'm such a lazy ass, I'll probably be eating them over the kitchen sink to avoid having to clean the mess that those toasted crumbs can make all over the place.
Toaster. Never stick a fork in it or shower with one that's plugged in.
I actually made it through the month of March without a single entry on this weblog. I'm not sure if I want to consider that as an achievement but it's the first ever since the inception of this website.
