I recently attended a forum organised by the alumni association of my alma mater, titled ‘What Must Malaysia Do Differently?‘, featuring Dr Amani Salim, Dr Nungsari Ahmad Radhi, and Professor Dr Ramlee Mustapha, and moderated by Dali Abdul Latiff Aw. It wasn’t one of those forums where everyone politely agrees with each other, nods sagely, and leaves feeling reassured that “something should be done.”

Quite the opposite.

It was one of those rare conversations that left me rather unsettled. The kind that lingers in your head long after the drive home and supposedly just Netflix and chill on a Saturday night.
