As a marketing and branding person, my view on this is a name carries a lot of weight. For example, would you take an IT company that manages mission-critical applications seriously if it were to be named, Twisties or Rola? Think about it.
Some may well able to bend the rules, for example, Yahoo, Microsoft (soft for a company?) or even Rimbunan Segar Sdn Bhd… but the amount of time, money and resources invested in building ald elevating the brands are enormous.
In conclusion, it’s wise to opt for a name or in this case, a designation that speaks loud… well, provided that you can carry the portfolio well!

fuyoo! the pr manager for a global microprocessor manufacturer speaketh! agree that name/branding carries some form of reputation with it and definitely agree on the importance of marketing and sales since they make/provide the awareness. the rest depends on how well you can execute the job/project, which is what my job is mostly about. being a chief kuli officer has its moments too…
