I know I’ve been going around barefooted for a while and perhaps
the blisters and scabs are already showing these days. So the
inevitable has actually come, Mom’s prodding me to go look for
my own pair of shoes already.

It ain’t easy. Even with shoes, you may get splinters if they do not fit you correctly. Perhaps, appropriate padding systems can help to compromise your comfort level? … and pls, do not shop on impulse… find the best NIKE out there… a swoosh can be deceiving sometime…
